Italian film director Luca Guadagnino has seen incredible success through his films such as “Call me by your name”, “Queer”, “Challengers” and more. His strong sense of aesthetic is stamped all over the world’s he creates, so it should not come as a surprise that he also created his first hospitality project, Palazzo Talia, a five-star boutique hotel located in a 16th-century school in Rome, for which Guadagnino’s interior design studio, Studio Luca Guadagnino, designed the hotel’s public spaces.
The property looks to be (from the Architectual images I saw) a gorgeous blend of historic architecture with contemporary design, and an incredible attention to detail. The 25 elegant rooms have soaring ceilings and enormous picture windows overlooking the plant-filled interior courtyard or the sedate Via Nazareno. It also offers the Colegio’s expansive interior courtyard, theatrical indoor bar, a lovely spa, and wonderful location within walking distance of every marquee site in Rome, from the Colosseum to the Spanish Steps.
I plan to visit and report back, but in the meantime…. Swoon
